CANBERRA, Jan 19 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard was today told how a home in Canberra'swestern suburbs exploded in the path of the weekend firestorms.

The prime minister visited some of the worst hit areas today, and stopped to chat toTony and Marilyn Walter outside their destroyed home in Holder.
