Columbia County's solid waste officials will meet this week with the state Department of Environmental Conservation in the next leg of a landfill selection process they say is laden with provisions for public reaction.
"The opportunity for the public to interact is completely available throughout the process," said William Stone, Stockport town supervisor and chairman of the county's solid waste committee. "So anyone who has a perception that the public will not have an ability to affect the procedure is mistaken. People are mistaken about this."
